DNA technology to identify bacteria on the sea bottom for an early indicator on a change from good to bad environment. DNA technology makes the analysis of environmental samples independent of manual labour and reduce the analyse time from 3 months to one week.

Seabottom has variable sediments that can be difficult to sample. The technology allows for sampling on all sediments, hard rock as well as soft muddy bottom. Hence, opens up for more presice and accurate sampling.
